Water played the one of the most important roles and gave reasons why human exist and continue to live. Without water the world is nothing and humans will certainly die. We are not just talking about the importance of water but specifically the importance of fresh water. Three-fourths of the world is composed of water but only 20% of it is safe for drinking. Fresh water can be found in ponds, lakes, rivers and streams. There are also fresh waters found in underground soils or caves. Fresh water has a lower concentration than sea water and of dissolved solids. It is naturally occurring water from the roots of the trees. Though fresh water isn’t literally fresh and is directly safe for drinking most of the people wanted to use such kind of water in their everyday living aside from drinking because of the freshness it gives. The needed process for a fresh water to become water safe for drinking is purification and distillation. The process may take long but it is necessary and advised by the department of health since fresh waters, though it has the word fresh in its name, it doesn’t consequently mean it is already safe for drinking. Fresh water from the streams, rivers, and lakes has microscopic organisms that are not visible to the naked eye. Some of these microorganisms are dangerous and may cause illness to anyone. Contamination has a high possibility to happen especially to fresh waters since it was not cultured of filtered. It may then cause diarrhea, vomiting and as serious as urinary tract infection and gastroenteritis. It is really not advisable to drink fresh water since you are not 100% sure of its cleanliness. If there is really an urgency to drink water and distilled water is unavailable, perhaps fresh water boiling can be much safer than from drinking it directly.
